Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse Opens at Anchorage International Airport

Anchorage International Airport (ANC) and HMSHost Corporation, a world leader in travel dining and shopping, today celebrated the opening of local favorite Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse on Concourse B.

Humpy’s was founded in 1994 with the goal of providing downtown Anchorage with a casual neighborhood alehouse. Now, this popular restaurant’s first airport outpost is part of HMSHost’s ten-year agreement to provide unique restaurant dining at ANC. Humpy’s will bring a true Alaskan experience to passengers traveling through ANC.

Widely known as a favorite alehouse for both locals and tourists, Humpy’s serves delicious Alaskan specialties accompanied by popular brews on-tap. In addition to Humpy’s Halibut Tacos and The Original Crab roll, the menu offers a variety of pub favorites — from meaty Buffalo wings, Alaskan king crab nuggets and shrimp peelers — to grilled beef, chicken, halibut or salmon burgers, hearty soups, and fresh salads. A selection of draught beers, premium cocktails and wine by the glass are tailored to complement the menu.

HMSHost will open Norton Sound Seafood in the fall of 2010 and the restaurant will feature a menu of local offerings created by well-known television celebrity chef, Al Levinsohn. HMSHost’s current ANC restaurant and dining options include Starbucks Coffee, Chili’s Too, Quiznos, Legends, Café Del Mundo and Upper One Lounge.

Humpy’s will employ 35 HMSHost associates, bringing the total number of associates working for HMSHost at Anchorage International Airport to 160.
